Blessed Trinity striker Tiggi has signed for Manchester United - just one of two girls who came through tough trials at Under 16 level.

Tiggi was offered a contract Blackburn Rovers for Under 16s but Manchester United started a ladies team and Tiggi decided to give it a go.

Tiggi, 14, took part in a tough trial in Manchester and, out of more than 100 girls at Under 16 level, just two were offered a one-year contract.

"It's brilliant," said Tiggi, who used to play for Burnley girls and has also played for Lancashire Under 14s.

"I will train three times a week and play at a high level. I want to play in the FA Women's Super League and my aim is to play for England."
