Chaplaincy

Lay Chaplain

Our Lay Chaplain, Rebecca Wilkinson, teaches KS3 RE Monday to Wednesday but focuses on chaplaincy on a Thursday and Friday. Ask her how you can get involved!

Mission Leaders

We are very proud of our dynamic team of Mission Leaders at Blessed Trinity. Every year group has a team of pupils who volunteer to plan lead our prayer activities and chaplaincy events.

Chapel

We are blessed with a beautiful chapel which is open during the week for prayer. Mass is celebrated in chapel during Advent and Lent and the sacrament of reconciliation is available to all pupils during Lent. Look in Chaplaincy Activities to see some of the weekly groups, such as Faith Friends, who meet in chapel on a regular basis.

Reflection Room

Our reflection room is used on Fridays for Jumma prayer by Muslim pupils and staff. It is also home to our equalities group who meet on Mondays.

Overview of Chaplaincy Activities

Here are some of the faith life activities around Blessed Trinity

Quiet and Calm: Time for yr 11 to take ten minutes to be still and breathe. Enjoy this space for reflection and prayer, or just have some time out of the busy day.

Equalities group: A place for all ages, genders, sexualities, abilities, races and religions. Supporters and allies are welcome.

Faith friends: Meet our Faith Friends from Burnley Building Bridges. Time to chat and enjoy each other’s company while taking part in different Interfaith activities.

Philosophy Philm Club: Come and explore some of the big questions of meaning and purpose. Bring your lunch and have fun with a heated debate!

Take a break:  drop into the Reflection Room for some creative prayer led by our Mission Leaders during first break on a Tuesday or second break on a Thursday.

Eco group: led by upper school Year 7 are developing our Prayer Garden and exploring how we can be more environmentally aware in and around school. Amongst other initiatives, our Eco group planted 150 trees around school last year.

Jumma Prayer: Muslim staff and pupils are invited to offer their Jumma prayer on a Friday.
