Headteachers Christmas Letter

To the Community of Blessed Trinity

Dear Parents, Carers,

We have made it to the end of what has been a very long 8 week term.

Our young people have continued to excel in all that they do and I urge you to read through our Christmas newsletter which covers some of the amazing highlights of this term.

You will find it on our website if you click into the link below

We thank you for your ongoing support because without you and your efforts this would not be possible.

Pupil punctuality to lesson:
We would like to highlight the following change to our procedures when we return to school in January. Pupils are given a generous amount of time to move from one lesson to the next which is signalled by a piece of music being played during lesson changeover. If pupils arrive to a lesson after the music ends they are late. Some pupils are not being punctual to lessons which means interruption to your child's learning. With this in mind, we will be having a greater focus on improving punctuality to lessons. If a pupil is late to lessons (signalled by the music having ended or an additional bell) they will be kept for a 30 minute detention after school on the same day.

Parents will be informed by text message during the day. We have spoken to all pupils about the changes moving forward and with your continued support we know that we will see the positive changes to pupil punctuality. We ask that you discuss this with them to ensure that it is not necessary to invoke this sanction. We thank you for your continued support in helping us to maintain high standards thus creating the best possible learning environment for all.

I would like to remind you that we finish on Thursday, 19th December at 1:00pm. The school buses have been confirmed for 1:00pm and will run as normal.

All pupils will return to school on Tuesday, 7th January 2025

Our pupils in receipt of free school meals will be able to collect their lunch at break time from the dining room. Additionally, all parents whose child/children who are in receipt of free school meals should have now received their vouchers. Please email Mr M Magee at MMagee@btrcc.lancs.sch.uk if you have any questions.

Please also use the attached links if you or someone you know may be in need of food support this Christmas.

We know that during this Christmas time some of our families, friends, and neighbours may be facing difficulties. We pray that people will notice and show kindness and care for anyone who is struggling at this time.

We pray for peace, for the ending of war and human suffering.

We pray that the Birth of Christ will bring Joy and Happiness and will remind us of the true meaning of Christmas.

From all the staff and governors we wish you all a Peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Stay with us Lord on our Journey.

Yours sincerely

Mrs D Williams
