School Catering Provision

At Blessed Trinity, our catering for break and lunch services is provided by Mellors Catering Services. 

Mellors are an award winning family business that has been catering successfully for Primary, Secondary school and Further Education sectors across the North of England since 1995.

Mellors strongly believe that healthy eating and good hydration will improve pupil performance and concentration and pride themselves on using locally sourced seasonal produce to provide the best quality food for your child.

Weekly menus provided by Mellors have been planned to offer choice and variety for your child that doesn’t cost the earth.  They provide hot specials of the day, fresh vegetables or salad, a vegetarian choice, hot and cold deserts, snacks and sandwiches, juices and drinks. Please note, all beef and chicken used in our menus is halal, however should wish to discuss or have any queries regarding this please contact the school.

Menus follow a 3 weekly cycle, and are regularly reviewed.  They also provide exciting high street food concepts and promote a range of popular Meal Deals.  There are also regular themed menus showcasing food from around the world to offer a variety of food choices.  Sampling sessions throughout the year encourage pupils to try a variety of new foods.

The main dining hall is situated on the lower floor of the building and has a fully equipped kitchen, a main servery and a ‘Grab & Go’ counter and a large seating area.

 

School Food Standards

Mellors Catering Services is very proud to exceed School Food Standards, meaning the provision of a balanced diet with the essential nutrients your child needs.  Menus developed by Mellors Catering Services ensure your child is given the healthiest choices that provide them with at least two of the recommended 5-a-day portions of fruit and vegetables.

 

Special Dietary Information

Please contact the school office via telephone or email office@btrcc.lancs.sch.uk if you need to discuss any specific dietary needs that we need to be aware of.  This could include salt, sugar, fat content, level of dairy products or allergy information such as wheat, yeast, nuts etc.  This will enable the school office to update the pupil record if necessary as well as passing the query/ information to the Catering Manager.

In addition to the above, allergen information will be provided in line with Natasha’s Law.

 

Feedback

Mellors are continuously working to provide variety of food and menus.  The friendly on-site catering team welcome any suggestions you or your child have regarding menus.  There is a feedback box in the dining hall should pupils wish to provide feedback, alternatively, please email office@btrcc.lancs.sch.uk.

 

Cashless Catering System

The school operate a cashless catering system where payments are made via ParentPay.  Parents can access information regarding balances and expenditure via this system.  If you require further information or access to the system please contact our accounts team via telephone or email accounts@btrcc.lancs.sch.uk.
