Science revision

This year has seen record numbers of pupils arriving for two hours of weekend GCSE revision preparation, to allow them to achieve the best possible GCSE grades in their summer exams.
These sessions are designed to help students excel in their upcoming exams. These sessions are a fantastic opportunity to boost knowledge, reinforce key concepts, and prepare with expert guidance.
Curriculum Leader of Science Mrs. Hacking said: “It is a pleasure to come to school on a Saturday and see so many eager and diligent pupils, determined to achieve the best possible grade they can in their upcoming GCSE examinations.
“Dr Tuohy and I have been running these Saturday sessions for several years and we have been astounded in the number of pupils taking up the opportunity this year, it’s the best we have ever had.”
The feedback from pupils has been incredibly positive.
Giulia said: “I feel like Saturday revision is extremely useful and helpful because you’re not under pressure about time. Those that have been attending are the students that are really taking the exams seriously, so there are no distractions. In my recent mocks I have improved from a Grade U to a Grade 5.”
Maisie said: “So far, I have been to every Saturday revision session and I’ve found it extremely helpful.
The recap of content paired with the great help and made me feel more confident to face my upcoming GCSE’s. The relaxed nature is great as I feel no pressure to stay, and it gives me an opportunity to learn with my friends.”
Jack said: “I have found the Saturday revision sessions useful, the teachers are helpful in ensuring we cover both Foundation and Higher. I go with my friends, but I get loads done in the two hours, more than what I thought I would. Although it's hard work, I know it will be worth it in the end.”
