Art Competition

Blessed Trinity pupils came second in an art competition run by Lancashire County Council during Refugee Week in June.

The theme of the week was ‘Compassion’ and pupils from the county were invited to join a project in creating a Lancashire poster inspired by this theme

Lancashire County Council’s Education Improvement-Equality and Diversity Consultant and Teacher Izabela Zalewska-Ratajczak said: “We had a record number of entries this year -132! 10 schools took part this year.

“Voting was anonymous and Blessed Trinity pupils won second place in the category for high school students.

“The choice was difficult but we thought that their words and images expressed in the poster captured understanding of the need for compassion very well.”

Pupils will receive certificates and a small token for their efforts from Lancashire County Council in September.
