A group of pupils have cheered their way to third place in Europe.

Year 7 Heidi, Lottie and Lacey along with Year 8 Lilly-Rai are part of Clarets Cheer who recently went to Germany to take part in the ECC European Championships.

They all train at least two hours a week and finished in third place in the Intensity Junior Pom class.

Heidi said: “I enjoy cheerleading as we get to travel. This was our first time abroad though.”

Lilly-Rai said: “Through Clarets Cheer, I have made a lot of new friends. It was amazing for us to finish third place. We had been practising our routine for around a year.”
