Teaching Assistant Level 3 - ASD (Maternity cover)

Blessed Trinity RC College, are looking to appoint a TA3 ADHD Lead

Required to commence: September 2025

Job Purpose        The main objectives of the TA3 ASD Lead

Role aim:

To support pupils with their vulnerabilities with a particular focus on ADHD pupils.

Role Overview:
The ASD TA3 Lead will support ASD pupils and other pupils in school. They will attend meetings and complete appropriate referrals for pupils with ASD. You will collaborate with our Senior Leadership Team, teachers, administrators, and pupils to ensure that pupil’s development and attainment enhances the overall school culture and helps to embed our school mission statement to Love God, Serve Others, Work Hard & Value All.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To analyse data for ASD students and identify intervention strategies that will improve progression.
  • To assist in the delivery and development to all staff on teaching strategies for students with ASD
  • To understand all elements of ASD and differentiate teaching assistant strategies to meet the needs of these learners.
  • To lead parental meetings of students with ASD on a half termly basis in order to provide feedback and set up targets for the half term.
  • To update the ‘all about me’ profiles for ASD students on a half term basis.
  • To provide the Assistant Headteacher SENDCO with weekly updates on ASD students.
  • To contribute to the termly SEND newsletter on ASD at BTRCC. 
  • To complete referrals for pupils who may possibly have traits of ASD.
  • Support a range of pupils in lessons.
  • Provide interventions for pupils with ASD
  • Work with staff on ensuring pupils with ASD needs are being met.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for recognising pupil achievements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and pupils.
