GCSE English Language
All pupils in year 10 and 11 follow the Eduqas GCSE course in English (Language)
In English Language, pupils will follow a demanding course learning how to read unseen 19, 29 and 21st Century literary and non-literary texts. They will also develop a wide range of writing skills to produce creative and transactional pieces of work. Furthermore, pupils will sit two exam papers, the first lasting one hour forty-five minutes and the second lasting two hours. These papers are no longer tiered; therefore all pupils sit the same paper. Finally, pupils will develop their formal speaking and listening in delivering a formal presentation. This part of the course does not form part of the overall GCSE grade.
